Dr. Sepideh Pakpour acts as the Program Director for the NSERC CREATE Program in Product Design for Human Comfort (PDHC). This program adopts a multidisciplinary approach to engineering product design by examining the interaction and complementarity of three key dimensions of human comfort: physical, physiological, and psychological. The program brings together knowledge from engineering, psychology, computer science, health sciences, and related disciplines to develop a comprehensive understanding of how products and environments can be designed to enhance human comfort and well-being. Through specialized coursework, multidisciplinary research, and industry mentorship, trainees develop expertise in comfort assessment methodologies and engage in user-centric engineering design. The program also emphasizes the development of practical and interdisciplinary skills that prepare trainees for careers in areas such as product design, textile engineering, and consumer psychology.
