Joud Jelassi, Laya Feizabadi, and Dr. Sepideh Pakpour had the chance to attend and present at the Canadian Ecotoxicity Workshop in Victoria. The team participated in the “Microplastic Science in Canada: Advancing Knowledge, Monitoring, and Solutions.” session organized in partnership with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and co-chaired by Dr. Anna Posacka and Dr. Peter Ross.

During the event, the team shared their latest research on the neurotoxic effects of microplastics, airborne microplastics, and magnetic levitation-based approaches for assessing microfiber density changes. The workshop provided a valuable opportunity to engage with researchers, government scientists, and environmental professionals from across Canada, fostering discussions on emerging challenges, monitoring approaches, and solutions for addressing microplastic pollution. The team also enjoyed learning about the diverse research being conducted nationwide and building new connections within Canada’s growing microplastics research community.
